Technical Data Sheet
The ArmeoSpring Pro is a device intended for the rehabilitation of patients with mild to moderate impairments in upper limb function. The ArmeoSpring Pro provides
functional training to improve upper limb function. The ArmeoSpring Pro consists of a passive instrumented arm orthosis with an adjustable spring mechanism, which supports the weight of a patient’s arm and measures patient’s movements during functional upper limb exercises. Weight bearing provided by the orthosis facilitates movement exercises presented on a computer screen via motivating game-like exercises with the aim to increase range of motion, strength, and movement coordination of the impaired arm.
Key Features
- TrueG: Constant arm weight support throughout shoulder extension and flexion
- Arm orthosis to train the complete movement chain from shoulder to the hand or single joint movement
- Motivational game-like exercises to increase repetitions
- Smooth easy to clean cuff materials
- In device storage, Everything available within reach
- Hand module for hand function training
- ManovoSpring (optional): Hand orthosis with integrated hand opening support
- Armeo Support Harness intended to restrict compensatory trunk movements
Adaptability to Patient
- Continuous adaption to patients arm length:
• Upper arm length range: 164mm – 295mm (6.5in. – 11.6in.)
• Forearm length range (Elbow joint to grip axis): 231mm – 416mm (9.1in.– 16.3in.) - Continuous adaption of arm weight support (shortest/ longest setting)
• Upper arm weight support 0kg – ≤ 26.5kg / 0kg – ≤ 9kg
• Forearm weight support 0kg – ≤ 8kg / 0kg – ≤ 2.5kg
- ManovoSpring (optional): Hand opening support (0.3 – 0.9Nm)
- Electric lifting column to adjust to shoulder height (range: 340mm)
- Two upper arm cuff sizes (S/M, L/XL)
- Two Harness sizes (S/M, L/XL)
- Wheelchair compatibility: Compatible with commonly used adult and pediatric; active, passive, and electrical wheelchairs
- Up to 7 degrees of freedom, each with an angular sensor to precisely track patients’ movements (Angle sensors accuracy ≤ 2°, resolution ≤ 0.05°
- Instrumented physiological movements:
– Horizontal shoulder adduction/ abduction
– Shoulder flexion/ extension
– Shoulder rotation internal/ external
– Elbow flexion/ extension
– Forearm pronation/ supination
– Wrist flexion/ extension
– Hand grasp yes/no, resp. hand aperture if ManovoSpring is used (optional)
Hand module
- Hand grip with integrated sensor to measure grip pressure and interact with game like exercises
- ManovoSpring (optional) passively actuated hand module to help relearning coordinated hand opening and closing
Armeo control Software
- The Virtual Reality and Augmented Performance Feedback exercises provide a motivating training environment.
- User database with an individual account for every patient (allows for managing individual therapy schedule, storing patient settings, logging activity and results)
- Parameters individually adjustable to the patient’s needs and abilities:
• Exercise workspace
• Difficulty level of every exercise
• Visual details
• Training time
• Hand grip sensitivity
- Assessment Tools for relevant parameters of the patient’s performance (coordination reaction time)
- Objectively track patient’s progress – detailed, Excel readable exercise report
