Tips and Tricks #1: What are compensations? How can you avoid them?
Patients may face hurdles in achieving certain movements due to muscle activity restrictions. This can spark compensatory actions leading to secondary issues, including pain. Compensatory movements, while initially adaptive, can inadvertently trigger discomfort. It’s crucial to address these issues to ensure holistic well-being of the patient.
The Armeo®Spring Pro offers two options to avoid compensations:
- The Armeo®Control Software offers the possibility to adapt the training region strategically to prevent patients from reaching the point of compensation. This means that the targets will remain within the specified area determined by the therapists and will not appear beyond it.
- Armeo® Support Harness can be used to restrict compensatory movements of the upper limb. Watch our latest video to gain a deeper understanding.
Tips and Tricks #2: How can you use the Armeo®Spring Pro to promote inclusion of family and caregivers?
Elevate your therapy sessions with ArmeoSpring Pro! Empower family and caregivers (assistants) to actively participate in the patient’s journey with Extra Time* training. This allows you to extend Armeo Therapy beyond regular sessions with therapists, promoting intensive training.
Therapists, you’re the key! Guide suited patients and assistants on using Extra Time following a therapy plan already defined by you, the therapist. Enter sessions with a patient-specific password for secure access, ensuring a tailored and effective therapy guided by the step-by-step instructions in the software.
Enrich your therapy experience with an extra layer of joy! Explore our multiplayer possibilities and unleash your creativity e.g. playing tic tac toe! Witness the magic unfold as patients and therapists bond, creating precious moments during training sessions. With the latest technology, we ensure the human factor remains at the heart of therapy, fostering connection and joy. Together, let’s unlock new possibilities in rehabilitation!

Tips and Tricks #3: Ever wondered about adapting technology for functional training?
Patients face challenges all the time in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as pouring a glass of water from a bottle to drink. Armeo®Spring Pro can help train tasks related to ADL in a fun environment. Therapists can set up therapy goals* such as strength training (by changing the arm weight support), coordination, and functional training in the software.
For instance, in the helicopter game, we simulate movements similar to pouring a glass of water from a bottle, but in a uniquely engaging, motivating, and safe environment. Therapists have the flexibility to adjust the difficulty by adapting the 3D area to meet their patients’ specific needs. They can increase the area to encourage patients to push their limits, decrease it to prevent frustration or intensify the challenge to enhance coordination. It’s a tailored approach to rehabilitation that combines motivation and adaptability! Together, let’s unlock new possibilities in rehabilitation!
