The debut of the ValedoMotion took place at three international events: The Back Pain Show in London (UK) on October 22-23, the Australian Physiotherapy Association Congress in Surfers Paradise (Australia) on October 28-30 and the 7th Interdisciplinary World Congress on Low Back & Pelvic Pain in Los Angeles (USA) on November 9-12, 2010. At all three events, ValedoMotion drew a lot of attention and received a thoroughly positive feedback from patients as well as therapists. A total of over 5500 visitors did not only have the opportunity to receive information and ask questions, but also to try out the ValedoMotion themselves.
“We are proud and excited about the positive reactions that we received from visitors and even organizers of the events”, said Thomas Kaup, Product Manager at Hocoma. During the events, the ValedoMotion was described by various visitors and physiotherapists as ”the future of physiotherapy”.
The ValedoMotion is an innovative medical back pain therapy device that provides pre- and post assessments and a series of motivational exercises for stabilization, mobilization and movement awareness. The systems records and documents the patient’s activities and provides comprehensive reports for the therapist and the patient. The real time augmented feedback and the exercises motivate the patient, which leads to more and intensified training sessions.
The ValedoMotion will be available from 2011 (depending on national registration procedures), and was developed by Hocoma in collaboration with the Institute of Physiotherapy at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur (Switzerland).
As of March 2011, the ValedoMotion will be available in combination with the ValedoShape, an innovative spine assessment device that enables computer assisted analysis and display of the spinal shape and mobility. The ValedoShape improves the back pain therapy by offering fast and reliable documentation and 3D graphics of the spine.
