We are pleased to announce that Hocoma was awarded the grant “Fighting COVID-19 Open Call 2020” by the DIH-HERO project. The innovation presented by Hocoma focuses on telerehabilitation at home with Armeo®Senso.

Successful recovery of arm and hand function highly depends on the availability of targeted and personalized therapy. In the current extraordinary situation, thousands of patients unfortunately do not have access to such therapy. Telerehabilitation can provide therapy to patients without exposing them to additional risks through proximity with other patients/therapists.

Hocoma’s sensor-based system, ArmeoSenso, could provide functional arm and hand movement therapy at home. The therapist can set up a personalized therapy plan and monitor performance and therapy adherence through remote connection to the patients’ computing device. Patients will thereby be offered individually tailored arm and hand rehabilitation which they can perform from the comfort and safety of their own homes, while they can stay in contact with the therapist, thereby also reducing social isolation.

Hocoma will work hard to bring a solution to the market that allows easy monitoring and adaptation of the therapy provided with ArmeoSenso.

Stay tuned for more updates!

We thank the DIH-HERO consortium for this great opportunity!
