Erigo® Therapy - Answers to frequently asked questions

Question: What kinds of patients benefit from training with the Erigo?

Answer: The Erigo is suitable for patients with serious traumatic brain injury and patients in the early stages of neurorehabilitation with the following clinical symptoms: unstable circulation, serious spasticity, advanced rigidity, dynamic contracture (improvement in joint flexibility). Before any training begins, the patient’s doctor has to decide whether Erigo training will be useful and feasible for the individual patient.

Question: How long does an Erigo training session last?

Answer: 5 to 15 minutes are required to transfer the patient on to the Erigo, depending on the patient’s physical situation. The patient is then trained on the machine for between 10 and 40 minutes, depending on the individual patient’s condition.

Question: How often should a patient train with the Erigo?

Answer: The frequency of training depends on the individual patient’s condition and therapy plan. In general, it is recommended that a patient trains on the Erigo daily. The ultimate assessment of a patient’s suitability for Erigo therapy is the responsibility of the relevant medical specialist in each individual case.

Question: What clinics can provide information about their experiences with the Erigo system?
